Guided Tour Docent
The Lewes Historical Society is pleased to welcome Katanna Davis as our new summer intern. Katanna is from Kanopolis, Kansas She will be graduating from Missouri Valley College in May 2019 with with degrees in History and English. Once she graduates, she plans on working towards her masters in either Museum Studies or a similar field. This was Katanna's first time visiting the East Coast and she is excited to experience life on the coast in Lewes.
The 2018 Summer Craft Fair will be July 14th from 9am-4pm at the Lewes Historical Society Shipcarpenter Campus, 110 Shipcarpenter Street.
The fair will feature over 60 artists and included food, ice cream, and live music.
Admission is $5, children under 12 are free. Leashed, friendly dogs are permitted.

Did you know that October recently unseated June as the most popular month to get married? October in Lewes is beautiful (just like the other 11 months!) and fast approaching! Luckily, the Lewes Historical Society still has dates available to rent our venue spaces for your wedding (or other group event)!

Lewes Historical Society celebrated exemplary works of preservation on April 12 with the presentation of its bi-annual Preservation Awards. Four properties and one community organization received awards.
Randy Burton of Burton Builders generously sponsored the luncheon. Burton encouraged people to be stewards of preservation. "...We have to get involved for the next generation,” he said.
Schell Family to Name Rotating Exhibit Gallery at New Museum
Gift will be doubled by new challenge match
The Schell Family is making the first named gallery gift to the new Lewes History Museum campaign, contributing $150,000 toward the project.
In recognition of their support, the rotating exhibit area will be named the “Schell Family Exhibit Gallery.”
