Volunteer Open House

Do you love Lewes and have an interest in sharing local history with others?  The Lewes Historical Society invites those interested in volunteering, along with its current volunteers, to a Volunteer Open House on Wednesday, May 27 from 5:00-6:00pm.  An introductory walking tour will be offered, beginning at the Cannonball House Maritime Museum (on the corner of Front and Bank Streets in the historic district), continuing down Second Street past the Ryves Holt House Museum Gift Shop, and concluding with light refreshments at the “Historic Lewes, Delaware” exhibit in the

The Lewes Historical Society is proud to be the home of the Lewes Vintage Base Ball Club, a member of the Mid-Atlantic Vintage Base Ball League and the Vintage Base Ball Association.  It is an educational program of the Society, designed to tell the story of baseball in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and demonstrates the history of social and athletic life in Lewes.

Friday, June 5, at 4:00pm, at Hotel Rodney: Bob Fullmer presents "Colonial American Beer Brewing Techniques and Tools"

These events are free, but- new this year- a pass per person is required for admission since seating is limited. Passes are available at the Ryves Holt House Museum Gift Shop at the corner of Second and Mulberry Streets beginning at 3:00pm (an hour in advance) on lecture days.
