Join the Seashore Striders in Lewes for the 21st annual Cannonball 5k Run & Walk. The Cannonball 5k is a flat & fast course through the Town of Lewes. The race will start and finish at the Lewes Historical Society with a beautiful course through historic Lewes taking in a course often called “the most beautiful race course in Delaware.”
About the Cannonball House:
- Sitting prominently on the corner of Front and Bank Streets, the Cannonball House has witnessed centuries of Lewes’ history unfold and served many purposes over its storied past. After defiantly enduring a British Naval bombardment in 1813, the Cannonball House has now come to represent the mission of the Lewes Historical Society and Lewes’ proud maritime heritage.
- Following an analysis by the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS), the Cannonball House now requires extensive repairs and maintenance to ensure the sustainability of this beloved landmark. Your participation in the 20TH Cannonball 5k Race & Trenny Elliott Memorial Walk helps raise funds to restore the legendary Cannonball House and keep it alive for generations to come.
Each race participant 21+ gets a complimentary beer at the post race celebration at the Sussex Tavern.
