History in Bloom Tour
History in Bloom Tour - Spring Season Opening
Join the Lewes Historical Society and Lewes in Bloom to welcome Spring to Lewes, during the 14th Annual Lewes Tulip Celebration.
The Society’s History in Bloom Tour will once again take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 1 & 2 starting in the back garden of the Cannonball House Maritime Museum, located at 118 Front Street, Lewes, DE. Each tour will be led by a historic guide and will provide information on Lewes’ rich maritime history from its founding by the Dutch in 1631 to our present-day Lewes community, demonstrating that “the First Town in the First State” has much to offer. A knowledgeable garden guide from Lewes in Bloom will also be on your tour to inform visitors of the tulip varieties and gardening care of other flora lining Lewes’s streets.
Three beautiful bloom sites will be included at The Cannonball House, Mary Vessels Park, and the Zwaanendael Park locations. Visitors will pass through the Lewes Historical Society’s Historic Campus on each tour. Three, 60-minute tours will be available at these times, limited to 15 individuals each:
