Bus Trip to Biggs Museum of American Art on March 8

It is with great pleasure that Saint Peters Church along with The Lewes Historical Society announce a very special bus trip opportunity for our members and residents of the Lewes area. On Tuesday, March 8, visit the Biggs Museum of American Art in Dover, Delaware, for a guided tour of the extended exhibition: The Saint John’s Bible: Illuminating the Word.

Tour the Cannonball House Maritime Museum and visit the Ryves Holt House Museum Gift Shop this spring

It is the perfect time of year to come to Lewes to enjoy The Lewes Historical Society’s Cannonball House Maritime Museum and Ryves Holt House Museum Gift Shop.  April presents new spring hours for both buildings.  The Cannonball House Maritime Museum will be open seven days a week 11:00am-4:00pm.  The Ryves Holt House Museum Gift Shop will be open every day 10:00am-5:00pm.

It is the perfect time of year to come to Lewes to enjoy The Lewes Historical Society’s Cannonball House Maritime Museum and Ryves Holt House Museum Gift Shop.  January presents new winter hours for both buildings.  Through March 31, the Cannonball House Maritime Museum will be open on Sundays from 12:00pm to 3:00pm and Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11:00am to 4:00pm.  The Ryves Holt House will be open Sundays, Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

Southern Delaware’s Atlantic Coast & Agricultural Roots Featured on September Bus Tours

Experience the fascinating stories of Southern Delaware first-hand on two guided bus tours in September. On September 14th, discover the rich maritime history of Delaware's Atlantic coast.  Stops include the Fenwick Island Lighthouse, DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum, Indian River Life-Saving Station, the original 1631 Dutch Settlement Site and Fort Miles.  On September 28th, get close and personal with Southern Delaware’s rich agricultural heritage and active harvest season. Stops include picking apples at T.S.

Historic Haunts- Become a paranormal investigator in historic Lewes October 19 or 26, 2013

The Lewes Historical Society is excited to invite Delmarva Historic Haunts back for the third year of paranormal investigations, to explore the curious happenings in historic Lewes, Delaware.  Participants will have a chance to investigate four of The Lewes Historical Society's historic buildings including the Cannonball House, Burton Ingram, Rabbits Ferry, and the Old Doctor's Office for ghostly beings.

First Heritage Bus Tour of 2013 Highlights Western Sussex

The first of six scheduled bus tours of Sussex County was conducted on Saturday, July 20, with a nearly seven hour tour of many sites along the pristine Nanticoke River, the largest Delmarva tributary to the historic Chesapeake Bay.
