"Fun with Feathers" on March 3

The Lewes Historical Society is offering programs geared for kids Kindergarten through 2nd grade, while school is out on March 3rd.

Visit the Cannonball House Maritime Museum at 118 Front Street in Lewes for children's story time, engaging learning opportunities, and history-themed crafts, all scheduled at two sessions per day: a morning session from 10:00am-11:00am and an afternoon session from 1:00pm-2:00pm. These programs are free for children and only a suggested donation of $5 per adult.  Space is limited; call for reservations (302) 645-7670.

Family Fun Fridays

The Lewes Historical Society is offering programs geared for kids Kindergarten through 2nd grade, while school is out during Teacher Development Days including January 27th, February 17th, and March 3rd.  Visit the Cannonball House Maritime Museum at 118 Front Street in Lewes for children's story time, engaging learning opportunities, and history-themed crafts, all scheduled at two sessions per day: a morning session from 10:00am-11:30am and an afternoon session from 1:00pm-2:30pm.

Lewes Family Boat Build Weekend to take place June 13-15

Lewes was a shipbuilding town. From the 1600s until the mid 1800s, hundreds of vessels of all sizes were built on Lewes Creek.  Join The Lewes Historical Society as we rekindle this art in Lewes as part of Family Boat Building Weekend over Fathers’ Day Weekend June 13-15.

Make a Nomination for the 2012 Historic Lewes Preservation Awards by February 7

The Lewes Historical Society seeks to honor those who have played roles in restoring and preserving Lewes’ historic character and fabric. These awards pay tribute to those who have acted as stewards of properties in town, those who have written or preserved its memory or those who have contributed significantly to the preservation movement in town are eligible to be nominated.

 

Properties or work located within Lewes or its surrounding countryside and completed since 2009 will be considered for these awards.

Fork-In Fork-Out 2

The idea is to come sink your fork into fantastic fare and then tell your host restaurant which worthy cause to fork out 10% of your check total towards.

Several local non-profits are participating including The Lewes Historical Society!
