Come by Midway School #178 for a sweet treat at The Lewes Historical Society Campus at 110 Shipcarpenter Street between 10:00am-4:00pm on February 11th. Enjoy free historic chocolate-making demonstrations and samples given by a team of Lewes Historical Society volunteer living history interpreters in period garb.

The Lewes Historical Society invites you to a Christmas Tour of Lewes

Advance tickets are now available online!

One of Lewes’s most beloved holiday traditions – the 43rd Annual Christmas Tour of Lewes, benefiting The Lewes Historical Society--  is set for Saturday, December 3, from 10:00am to 4:00pm.  Advance tickets are $25.00 each; tickets purchased the day of the tour are $30.00.  Children under 12 are FREE when accompanied by an adult.

Lewes Historical Society Hosts Outdoor Summer Craft Fair July 11

July in Lewes means the Summer Craft Fair brought to you by The Lewes Historical Society, sponsored by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Gallo Realty.  The Summer Craft Fair is on Saturday, July 11, from 9:00am until 4:00pm at the Historic Campus at Second & Shipcarpenter Streets in downtown Lewes.  Admission will be $5.00 per person, children under 12 are free.

Lewes Family Boat Build Weekend to take place June 19-21

Lewes was a shipbuilding town. From the 1600s until the mid 1800s, hundreds of vessels of all sizes were built on Lewes Creek.  Join The Lewes Historical Society as we rekindle this art in Lewes as part of Family Boat Building Weekend over Fathers’ Day Weekend June 19-21.

"Take Me Out to the Ball Game!" The Lewes Vintage Base Ball Club has their first home game on April 19

The Lewes Historical Society is proud to be the home of the Lewes Base Ball Club, sponsored by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery.  Lewes Base Ball Club is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Vintage Base Ball League and the Vintage Base Ball Association.  It is an educational program at the Society designed to tell the story of baseball in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.  It also demonstrates the history of social and athletic life in Lewes.
