Gardening and Grounds Volunteers

Spring Appeal

It's your support that keeps the Lewes Historical Society a premiere institution. The Lewes Historical Society will work with you and your advisors to design a plan that achieves your financial and philanthropic objectives. Gifts can be wonderfully simple, flexible and easy to make.

You may have received something in the mail about our spring appeal, but if not you can donate here: shop.historiclewes.org.

Description: Gardening and grounds volunteers help keep the Society’s grounds looking attractive. These volunteers assist in planting, trimming and the overall beautification of the Society’s grounds. They meet regularly to ensure that the gardens and grounds are properly maintained and inviting for the public..

Training: Gardens and Grounds volunteers will be trained for each specific task that is required of them. Safety training may also be required depending on the nature of the task at hand.  Note: This position requires getting your hands and clothing dirty. Please dress accordingly.

Why this position is important: The Society takes great pride in its park-like atmosphere, which is made entirely possible by the grounds and gardens volunteers. The beautiful flowers planted throughout the complex provide a beautiful place for tourists and locals alike.
