Maritime Lewes Ashore and Afloat: An Extended Walking Tour
Lewes Delaware was once a booming maritime center. The buildings that now serve as up-scale shops, restaurants, and vacation homes once housed a vast support network of maritime trades, necessary to support the seaborne industries of Lewes.
Join the Lewes Historical Society, and travel back to a bygone era learning about the nautical trades of our past. This 90-minute walking tour will explore the forgotten sites and stories of Shipwrights, Ship Chandlers, Taverns, Shipyards, and the former homes of seafarers.
This tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours and begins at 4 pm every Thursday from September 5th to October 24th.
