Join retired naval officer, Historian, and Lewes Historical Society member, Mr. Bill Manthrope for a presentation on "Jacob Jones: His Life in Lewes During the Revolution" at the Margaret H. Rollins Community Center on Friday November 8th.
Mr. Manthrope is a retired naval officer and senior government executive. Since retiring to the coastal area he has been researching, speaking and writing on the naval heritage of Delaware. His first book is on the navy 100 year presence on Cape Henlopen, his second is on the ships named Delaware.
What you will hear this evening is part of an initial work on Manthrope's proposed third book, focusing on the life of Jacob Jones and what he experienced during the American Revolution while living in Lewes, Delaware.
