If you are traveling through Delaware aboard a coach-line bus or the Cape May-Lewes Ferry, or visiting from a major city such as Philadelphia, Baltimore, or Washington D.C., consider visiting “The First Town in the First State.”

Lewes Historical Society guides are trained to provide 300 years of maritime history, including topics such as the Dutch settlement, pirate raids, the fishing industry boom of the 1960s, and modern-day tourism.

Lewes is not just a beach town. It is a town with a rich history that happens to have a beach. Our guides take visitors to the Society’s campus of historic buildings, as well as to the waterfront overlook of the Delaware Bay.

For a group of 25-50 visitors on a coach for a 60-90 minute step-on/step-off guide service with photo opportunities costs a flat rate of $300.

For a group of up to 25 but with a minimum of 10 visitors, the cost is $8 per person.
