The Lewes fire Department, c. 1900. The Col. Riley E. McGarraugh© The Lewes Historical Society
The Lewes Fire Department celebrated its 200th anniversary in 1996 and certainly has seen many changes over the years. Not the least of which, is in their equipment.

This photograph shows members of the Fire Department pulling their pump down Third Street from their former sattion at the corner of Chestnut and Mulberry Streets, the current-day location of Auntie M's Antiques. This photograph is part of the Col. Riley E. McGarraugh Photographic collection and was previously published in the Fire Department's 200 year history compiled by the late Lou Rickards.
