Scope & Content Notes –

LV 118/WAL 539 was the last lightship built for the U.S. Lighthouse Service and saw active duty at Pollock's Rip, Cornfield and Boston stations. It was retired in 1973, declared excess property and transferred to The Lewes Historical Society. Records include blueprints, correspondence, photographs, newsletters and video casettes. Records generated by US Lighthouse Service, US Coast Guard, The Lewes Historical Society and the Overfalls Maritime Museum Foundation [2001-].

Appraisal & Arrangement Notes –

Both appraisal and arrangement were conducted January in 2002. A superficial hierarchy was imposed (please see container list, below).
