The Lewes Historical Society is proud to present its Second Annual Lewes Seafaring Days June 27 & 28, 2007! The theme for the event is "Celebrating Lewes's Maritime Heritage."

In 2007, the Society was pleased to welcome the Northern Neck Chantey Singers as the featured entertainment. The Northern Neck Chantey Singers are men who have worked on menhaden purse boats, many of them here out of Lewes. The songs they sing were work songs, meant to take their minds off the hard, grueling work of hauling in tons of menhaden each day.

For more information on the Northern Neck Chantey Singers and to hear them sing, click here.

Friday June 27 will feature a Clam Bake fundraiser and live musical perforances TBA. There are only 150 tickets available for the Clam Bake so get yours quickly!

    Saturday events TBA.
