Lewes Historical Society's Mike DiPaolo and Irene Robb thank All Climate's Steve Twigg for his generous donation of a storage unit to the Lewes Historical Society.

Many people do not realize that most museums have only 10% of their collection on display at any one time. Having such a large collection allows exhibits to be rotated as well as provinding a central repository for the accumulated experiences of an area or town. The Lewes Historical Society is no different.

"We're not in the 10%-range of our collections, but we do have artifacts in attics and basements where they should not be stored," explained Society Executive Director Mike DiPaolo. "Like all museums, we definitely have space issues. All Climate Storage's offer to help alleviate the pressures on our existing space is extremely generous."

Yet, as DiPaolo explained, the Society must continue to collect photos, artifacts, papers and books and that represent all of Lewes' storied past. "The Lewes Historical Society acts as the memory of the town. Without the accumulated information here, Lewes would lose much of what it is. We work very hard to identify, gather and catalog our collections and new collections. It's a challenge but one that we're up to." DiPaolo stated that a current area of interest is 20th-century Lewes, but that the Society actively seeks pieces from Lewes' entire history.

Society Board member Fran Richmann was instrumental in working with All Climate manager Steven Twigg. "The Lewes Historical Society is a tremendous organization and we're very pleased to expand our relationship with them," Twigg said. Twigg also noted that All Climate offers moving and packing supplies, various sized storage units, climate-controlled areas and the peace of mind that the storage is very secure. Society President Irene Robb commended All Climate for their generousity, "Without the supprt of our local community, The Lewes Historical Society would not be able to accomplish as much as it has."
