Lewes Historical Society President Irene Robb presented members of the Pilots' Association for the Bay & River Delaware with a framed copy of Pilot Schooner No. 1, Thomas Howard in appreciation of the Assocation's support. The cost of the museum quality print was underwritten by the Association and it was generously framed by Thistles on Second Street in Lewes.

The painting, donated to the Society in 1971 by Dr. James E. Marvil, was painted c. 1880 most likely by a "C. Knight." Depicting the schooner off Cape Henlopen under threatening skies, the print would make an elegant addition to any family room, office, home office or collection and is available for $30.00 exclusively at the Ellegood House Museum Shop at The Historic Complex, Second & Shipcarpenter Streets. The painting was photographed and the print designed by Kevin Fleming. Please call 302-645-7670 or 302-645-8719 for more information.
