Lewes' 375th Anniversary!
Get To Know the Lewes Historical Society At an Informational Tea for Docents, April 25

The Lewes Historical Society will be hosting an informational and informal tea, "Be a Part of History, Become a Docent," at the Burton-Ingram House Museum at 2 PM on Friday, April 25, 2003, for anyone interested in becoming a volunteer docent at it's museums. The Society's nationally recognized museums include the Burton-Ingram House, c. 1785, Cannonball House Maritime Museum, Thompson Country Store, Rabbit's Ferry House and eight other historical museums. Current museum docents will be available for information and questions. A tour of the Historic Complex will be given following the Tea.

Docent training will be provided in May for the 2003 Summer Season, which starts June 2 and runs through Labor Day. A beautiful environment in the heart of historic Lewes, the chance to learn more about Lewes' fascinating past, and flexible hours make being a docent at the Lewes Historical Society an exciting opportunity. Opportunities to volunteer as docents are also available year-round or for the autumn season (September - October).
